Austin Jones Returns to Nebraska as Main Event at MCF 17

Former Nebraska Cornhusker Austin Jones grew up in Aurora, Colorado. Jones said he was convinced to play football at NU after falling in love with the fan base after seeing a game in Boulder as a child.

“The fans were a 100% behind the team. If they were up, if they were down, it didn’t matter the fans were cheering. No one leaves early and win, lose or draw that fan base has no quit”.

While in college Jones was first exposed to the UFC at a college bar watching with friends. Jones was immediately sucked in and decided if he didn’t make it to the NFL that this was a sport he could compete in. So after college and football we’re over that’s exactly what the Cornhusker did.

Austin fought a total of 8 amateur bouts going 7-1 before joining the pro ranks. Jones started 2-0, but after tasting defeat for the first time Jones fell on some hard times,

“After that loss, I was in a hurry and rushed things. I didn’t take time to fix the problems and before I knew it I was on a 3 fight skid”.

Since that time it seems Jones and his coaches at Factory X have found the recipe to right the ship. Winner of 4 in a row and 5 of his last six including 2 on National TV Jones isn’t looking to slow down anytime soon.

“Anthony Smith has really taken me under his wing. I think Anthony and the way he carries himself, his mental approach to the game, it gives a lot of up and coming pros on our team hope and a blue print to follow. It reminds you can always turn things around”.

Austin Jones looks to continue his winning ways this Saturday in North Platte in MCF. You can catch his Main Event fight along with the rest of an action-packed card live on PPV only at MMAFUTURES.com!!!
