Brock Lesnar Ends Attempts At UFC Comeback

The possibility of Brock Lesnar vs. Daniel Cormier for the UFC heavyweight title is now just a pipe dream.

According to a report by ESPN, Lesnar will not make another comeback to MMA.

“Brock Lesnar told me he’s done,” UFC president Dana White said in an interview with ESPN. “He’s retiring.”

Rumors of a return have swirled since last year when Lesnar squared off with UFC heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier following Cormier’s win over Stipe Miocic. The former champion dropped the WWE Universal title at WrestleMania to Seth Rollins, sparking more talks of him competing again in MMA.

Lesnar ended a lengthy retirement at UFC 200 when he faced off against Mark Hunt. But he failed the post-fight drug test and his victory was overturned to a no-contest.

The UFC is expected to move ahead with plans for Cormier to defend his title against Miocic this August on pay-per-view.
