Dakota Cochrane Fights For Bare Knuckle Title Friday Night

Omaha’s own Dakota Cochrane will attempt to claim the World Bare Knuckle Fighting Federation’s middleweight title this Friday night when he meets Johny Hendricks.

Cochrane steps in for Brennan Ward, who was pulled from the fight.

The event takes place live from the Hilton Gardens Inn in Casper, Wyoming and airs on pay-per-view beginning at 10 p.m. ET. It will also be available on the FITE TV app.

Along with Cochrane vs. Hendricks, Phil Baroni and Chris Leben square off for the light heavyweight title, and a tournament in the lightweight division begins that will see the winner claim $100,000.

“Two and one-half months ago I was asked to be the color commentator for this show,” Bas Rutten said. “I was told that they do anything for me to work it I did some research and felt bare knuckles has a good future, so I met with the WBKFF officials in Chicago, and now I’m president.”

The PPV main card will also feature Las Vegas middleweight Joey Angelo against Albuquerque’s Julian Lane, Ultimate Fighter runner-up Christina Marks against professional boxer Jasmine Clarkson for the WBKFF women’s bantamweight championship, Brazilian Marcelo Alfaya takes on Joey Munoz at a 177-pound catchweight, and former UFC and Bellator fighter, middleweight Josh  Neer, faces Albuquerque boxer Mike Aldrete.
MMA veterans Nick Gonzalez, Ireland-native Jay Cucciniello, Estevan Payan, Robbie Peralta, Mike Bronzoulis, and South African Leon Mynhardt are all set for the lightweight tournament.
