There was no wonderful move up to light heavyweight for former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman.
Instead, Dominick Reyes remained on course to challenge for the title sooner rather than later.
Reyes stayed perfect in his professional career, finishing Weidman in the main event of UFC on ESPN 6 from Boston.
Following several losses at middleweight, Weidman moved up in hopes of reigniting his career. Instead, he fell to 1-5 in his last six.
Yair Rodriguez claimed a decision over Jeremy Stephens in a bout rebooked after last month. The two had their main event fight end in a matter of seconds due to an accidental eye poke.
