Duane “Monstor” Johnson, born (July 31st, 1988) and raised in Omaha, Nebraska with his family.

Duane Johnson got his start in MMA through Premier Combat Center in Omaha, NE. “I wrestled and met some of the guys at premier and after that I was hooked on Mixed Martial Arts,” says Johnson. Duane trains in boxing, kickboxing, Jiu Jitsu and wrestling six days a week at Premier combat center and considers all of his teammates there to be his mentors at this point in his career. Duane holds the MCF 170 lb Title belt and several other belts and titles in boxing and Muay Thai.

Johnson considers his most impressive victory to be against Justin Thompson for the Welterweight Title at MCF 9. “There was no love loss between us. We went at it pretty good on social media before the fight. I slipped and he took advantage of it and got me hurt but I fought through it and came out with a win,” says Johnson. Duane considers himself to be above average as a fighter right now. “I am one of the best in the Midwest and I would go against anyone. I train hard everyday to improve and I just got to keep winning. “I have been focusing on boxing for a while now and went to nationals in the Golden Gloves,” says Johnson.

When he is not training Duane works full-time in construction. Duane was one of the inaugural members of the Grey Hat Team and has been an active part of promoting MMA Futures. “I love what you guys have done for me, I’ve met a lot of people especially for out-of-town training. It has been a great asset for me to be a part of the team,” says Johnson. One thing that most people don’t know about Duane Johnson is that he competes in four different sports, Muay Thai, Boxing, Wrestling and MMA.. “I sometimes take three fights in one month because I love to compete,” says Johnson.

Duane’s family is very supportive of his choice to compete in MMA. When asked to describe his life right now in one word, Johnson says, “Crazy.” Duane works hard to be the best he can be and we are very proud to have him as part of the MMA Futures Grey Hat Team. We look forward to great things from this young man in the near future.
