Sarah Kaufman handed Katharina Lehner her first career loss at Invicta FC 29, submitting the previously unbeaten German fighter and becoming the new bantamweight champion.
Kaufman locked up a rear-naked choke in the final moments of the third round live on UFC Fight Pass. The event took place from Kansas City.
For Kaufman, it marked the third consecutive win for the Canadian after leaving the UFC in 2015. She previously held the Strikeforce title, joining Cris Cyborg as the only female fighters to be champions in both Strikeforce and Invicta FC.
Lehner had won all seven of her prior fights coming in, including six via decision.
Pannie Kianzad, who lost to Kaufman this past January via decision, rebounded with a convincing win vs. Bianca Daimoni in the co-main event. Kianzad, a former Cage Warriors champion, halted a three-fight losing skid with the victory.
Also, Pearl Gonzalez locked up a first round armbar submission on Barbara Acioly.
Other winners included Marciea Allen, Liz Tracy, Lisa Spangler, Macy Chiasson and Helen Peralta.
