Invicta FC returns to Kansas City this Friday night for Invicta FC 29: Kaufman vs. Lehner live on UFC Fight Pass.
The event will see former Strikeforce champion and UFC fighter Sarah Kaufman take on Katharina Lehner for the vacant 135-pound title from the Scottish Rite Temple.
Kaufman was triumphant in her first fight for Invicta FC in almost five years this past January when she scored a decision victory over Pannie Kianzad. Back in 2015, Kaufman lost a split decision to UFC title challenger Valentina Shevchenko.
She did not compete in 2016, returning in 2017 to defeat current UFC fighter Jessica-Rose Clark in Korea for the Battlefield FC promotion. Overall, the Canadian is 19-4 with a no-contest in her career, including fights with the likes of Alexis Davis, Jessica Eye, former UFC champion Ronda Rousey, Marloes Coenen and ex-UFC champion Miesha Tate.
Lehner, a native of Germany, is 7-0 in her career and will be making her second appearance inside the Invicta FC cage. Last year, she picked up a first round finish vs. Alexa Conners.
During her early MMA career, Lehner captured the Respect FC bantamweight title with a victory over Judith Ruis.
In the co-main event, Kianzad tries to get back on track when she meets Bianca Daimoni in another bantamweight affair. Kianzad started her career with eight consecutive wins before losses to Tonya Evinger, Raquel Pa’aluhi and Kaufman.
Diamoni is 7-2 and making her debut with Invicta FC after wins in Katana Fight and Jungle Fight.
The card also features former UFC fighter Pearl Gonzalez taking on Babrba Acioly, Julia Avila putting her unbeaten record on the line vs. Marciea Allen and Liz Tracy vs. Cheri Muraski.
Weigh-ins for the event will stream live on YouTube on Friday at 10 a.m. central time.
