The final main event of 2020 in the UFC is just days away as welterweight contenders Stephen Thompson and Geoff Neal square off at UFC Vegas 17.
The card takes place from inside the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, streaming live on ESPN+.
According to the current odds from Sports Betting Dime, Thompson and Neal are entering as roughly an even split (-110). Though, depending on which site you look at, the odds will vary slightly. Hard to tell which fighter will come out victorious.
The bout was moved into the headline role for the card after Leon Edwards tested positive for COVID-19, scrapping his bout with Khamzat Chimaev.
Thompson, a former UFC welterweight title challenger, has not fought since a late 2019 decision win over Vicente Luque. That victory snapped a two-fight losing skid for “Wonderboy,” who is 15-4-1 in his career with wins over Jorge Masvidal, Rory MacDonald, and former UFC champions Johny Hendricks and Robert Whittaker.
Neal puts his seven-fight win streak on the line, with the last five of those coming as a member of the UFC roster after securing a contract through Dana White’s Contender Series.
UFC Vegas 17 also features former UFC champion Jose Aldo battling Marlon Vera, Michel Pereira taking on Khaos Williams and Marlon Moraes meeting Rob Font.
